Edsil Thurman Cross

Edsil Thurman Cross passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 85.

Edsil was born September 18, 1938 in Yukon, Oklahoma to Ancel Virgil Cross and Estil Gladine (Anderson) Cross. He attended Spaulding public school.

Edsil served our country in the U.S. Army. He married Rose Marie Pletcher on May 13, 1960 in Akron, Ohio. He was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wewoka. Edsil was a Mechanic and Welder. He enjoyed tinkering with vehicles, being ornery, and making everyone laugh. Edsil loved his family and spending time with his family.

Edsil is preceded in death by his parents; wife Rose; and four siblings.

He is survived by his daughter Sheila Ludwick and husband Keith of Yukon; son Eddie Cross of Spaulding; grandchildren, Candie Holland, Andrea Reddick, Jeremy Perry, Eddie Cross Jr., Benjamin Cross, and Kristen Ludwick; and siblings Lois Madron of Wewoka,Donna Robinson of Seminole, Lloyd Cross of Spaulding and Katie Sossamon of Holdenville.

Edsil is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 29th, at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville with Pastor Ruby Nell York officiating. Interment followed at Holdenville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ben Cross, Alex Porter, Dusty Holland, Stanley Whitlock, David Lee Cross Jr., and Jeremy Lucas. Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Wayne Cross, Wes Higgins, Willard Ringgold, James Cook, Wayne Stinson, Shelby Burchett and Rex Bynum.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.
