Brenda is the widow of Romeo Alford of Clearview and the mother of Jordan Alford. Both she and Jordan continue to support the Clearview community and their ranch in Clearview.
Read moreOn Saturday, February 17th, Shirley Nero spoke to the Oklahoma County Retired Educators in Putnam City, Oklahoma. She focused on the Black Towns in Oklahoma. She used her experiences of growing up and attending school in Clearview, one of the historically original all-Black towns in Oklahoma. Her presentation included a PowerPoint depicting photos culminating the town from it’s past to the present. Nero attended school in Clearview until it closed in 1964 and returned to live in Clearview after she and her husband retired.

While losing is never fun, Weleetka can’t take it too hard given the team’s big disadvantage in MaxPreps’ Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Wright City is ranked 94th).
