HVAC Installed at Clearview Gym

Finally, through a grant from USDA, the community of Clearview is receiving an HVAC system for the Clearview Community Center (old school gym). 4-Seasons of Okemah, Oklahoma is installing the system which should be completed by the end of the week. Donnie Nero of Clearview assisted the company with installation of two compressors placed on the roofs of the gym on Wednesday. The community is excited about having central heat and air in their facility and having a great place for citizens and guests to visit and utiilize.

The town has a new trash service, Osborn Trash service. They have started service this week. Please continue to pray for our sick, Otis Davis, Taft Forshee, Tiger French, Wilbert and Ida Mae Zackery, Lloyd Samilton, Yolanda Jackson, Becki Stripling, Christopher Stripling, L.C. and Irene Carson, Marjorie Plunkett, and Earnest Hamilton. Wetumka Police and Jailers raising money for Christmas gifts

The Wetumka jailers and police officers are raising money to purchase gifts for Wetumka children 12 and under. TOYS are still needed. The giveaway will be Saturday Dec 9 after the parade. Please have all children line up at the back of city hall at police station.

Commissioners: Hughes County Jail NOT Closed

In this week’s Hughes  County  Com missioners Meeting, County  Commission - er  Chair  Coal  Dilday  addressed concerns raised  by  the  Oklaho ma State Fire Marshal regarding the status of the Hughes County  Jail. The state fire mar shal’s letter, dated November 17, indicated a closure of the jail due to health and life safe- ty issues.

The Wetumka Chamber will be holding their annual Christmas Lighting contest. There is only one category this year. 1st place winner will receive $100.00 and a keepsake ornament. 2nd place winner will receive $50.00 and a keepsake ornament.
