Why not Mogadishu?

Since most Americans seem to be getting a lot of political advice from a vast minority of other Americans is it not fair to ask, Why? Why is it that Rep. Ihsan Omar-D from Minnesota is so listened to in Congress when she makes her many demands on her adopted homeland for such radical changes? Why would someone from Mogadishu, probably the most messed up place in the world in governance presume that the USA is so messed up, so racist, so materialistically unfair that in order to repair it, it must be first destroyed. “It’s just too far gone,” she implies.

Plane crashes near Dustin; one dead

The Hughes County Sheriff’s Office and Hughes County EMS responded Friday, July 10, to a small plane crash within the county. The pilot was transported by Hughes County EMS paramedics to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. OHP, FAA, and NTSB are conducting the investigation. Please keep the family and friends of the deceased pilot in your prayers. We will release more information as it becomes available following the conclusion of the investigation.

Maxie’s memories

Just after my graduation from Holdenville High School in 1954, Max McClearin, the basketball coach formed an independent basketball team to play during a summer lapse in sports. The team, all former ball players, consisted of Max McClearin, Boyd Mc- Gugan, Jim Jones, Maxie Carter, Spec hancellor, Yeager hotshot, Bill Tipton from Gerty with Jim McCorpin as coach and scorekeeper.

Patriots gather in Calvin to celebrate 4th!

Over 80 years ago a large group of Calvin residents gathered in front of the J.W. Hundley Company for one of their famous drawings. A picture was taken of the crowd and it is now on display. The 4th of July a large crowd gathered in the same location to have a similar picture taken. It was a lot of fun!
