Joe Edward Cantrell passed away Sunday, March 16th, 2025 at this home in Atwood, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

Joe was born September 5th, 1946 in Ada, Oklahoma to Lawrence Edward Cantrell and Ivie Muriel (Herrin) Cantrell. He graduated from Byng High School. Joe attended Connors State and received his Associate Degree. Joe retired from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. After retirement, he was an Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agent and worked for the Able Commission. Joe enjoyed cutting horses, bred & trained cutting & barrel horses. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, son Jim Ed Cantrell, siblings; Retha Robbins, Pokey Deaton and Louann McVay. He is survived by his wife Pamela Cantrell of the home, children; Stacy Little and husband Bob of Nowata, Muriel Cantrell of Edmond, 4 grandchildren; Amanda, Stacy, Emily, Ivie and 1 great grandchild Logan. Joe is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Atwood Nazarene Church in Atwood, Oklahoma with Pastor Larry Mc- Daniel officiating and Dick Wilkerson assisting.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
