Willis Thomas began his life November 1, 1953. He was born to Edwin Thomas and Viola (Love) Thomas. His early childhood was spent in Hughes County, Oklahoma. His father and mother precede him in death.

At an early age Willis joined the Unity Baptist Church and was baptized.

His early schooling was in Hughes County at Moss Schools. He also attended Okmulgee Technology Center. Willis loved going fishing, doing farm work, and helping others. He was a master at barbecuing. He married Clara Normore, and to that union three children were born. Later in life, he married Norma Bell. To this union three children were born. Willis’ working years were spent employed at Aqua Farms, and by Davis Correctional Facility in Holdenville.

Willis departed this life on August 20, 2024 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He leaves to cherish his memories five daughters, Angela Thomas of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Danyelle Thomas of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Betty Bell of Oklahoma City, Alexis Thomas of Wetumka, Oklahoma, Wolette Thomas of Seminole, Oklahoma; one son, Phillip Thomas of Bristow, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Cherell Bell of Wewoka, Oklahoma; one sister, Roberta Denise Watts of Muskogee, Oklahoma; first cousin Jerry Richardson of Kansas City, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew, cousins and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Willis Thomas was held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Williamson- Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka.

Funeral Services for Willis Thomas were held Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Wetumka First Assembly of God. Interment followed at Wisner Chapel Cemetery in Wetumka.
