He attended and graduated from Wetumka Public Schools except for a couple of years when he attended Chilocco Indian School. While still in school he worked and stayed busy to help his grandma Mandy whom he affectionately considered his “Mama”. Woody mowed grass, cleaned yards and operated a shoeshine stand in a local barbershop. He also drove a home delivery truck for Peixotto IGA and raised chickens and pigs. After high school he attended Oklahoma State Tech and acquired training as an appliance repair and refrigeration technician.

Woody, with his wife Lola, served in the bus ministry and owned and operated Home Appliance Service before moving back home to Wetumka to continue to raise their family.
He pastored Faith Baptist Church in Ada for 15 years before being called to pastor Wetumka Indian Baptist church in 2005. As a bi-vocational pastor, he retired from Muscogee Creek Nation Health Systems after 20 years with the maintenance department. He enjoyed raising cattle and gardening before and after retirement. He especially enjoyed growing banana plants. He was still a pastor at his death.
Over the years, Woody and his wife were known to help young people through challenging times in their life, providing a place to live and helping them get back on track.
