Read moreIn this world of “banned books” and “critical race theory” many schools are getting adverse publicity. But tonight, at the junior high football game at Graham- Dustin against Maud I witnessed what the whole world needs a little more of. We should accept people for their differences and be kind in the process. These two teams and their coaches allowed a very special young man named Canon score the final points. Years from now it won’t matter that Maud won or that the game technically ended early. It will matter that Canon made the final run down the field and scored a touchdown cheered on by both teams, their coaches and their fans. Early in the game I observed Canon waiting on the sidelines and sitting outside the huddle. But I looked up at the final play I managed to capture these photos of this very special moments.

Read moreHere in the 21st century, we live our lives based on contracts written in an obscure language known as legalese. We may have agreed with a friend, relative, or colleague to enter into a transaction that seems totally clear and straightforward, but due to the litigious nature of our culture, we are compelled to get a written contract. What was a simple understanding between two people of goodwill now involves each of them retaining a highpried attorney to put their agreement into legalese which neither can understand. While I recognize that contracts may be a necessary evil in the world in which we live, we need to understand their limitations and shortcomings., A contract is only as good as the word and honor of the parties involved. I am very pleased to have been in a multitude of businesses for four decades and have never sued anyone nor been sued. Furthermore, I am proud that there’s no one I have done business with in the past that I couldn’t do business with again.
