Regina Sue Hester, 74 of Holdenville, passed away June 6, 2023. She was born in Holdenville to Leroy Bible and Maxine (Wingo) Bible. Sue worked as an LPN for over 20 years in Hughes County. After retirement she spent her time gardening, watching sci-fi movies and reading. She loved sitting on her patio listening to the thunder and rain.

The Calvin 4th of July committee strives to celebrate our country’s independence while also showcasing all that our little community has to offer. We work hard to keep the events for the day at low or no cost to all families who spend the day with us. The day starts with a parade, followed by kid’s activities (petting zoo, pony rides, inflat ables, cornhole tournament and more), BBQ dinner, Ranch Rodeo or “Yankee Doodle Land” (Methodist Church in Calvin), and finish the night off with fireworks all for free thanks to your generous contributions.

Wetumka holds 1st Annual Pet Parade

Wetumka’s 1St Annual Pet Parade was held at the Park on Monday, May 29th. The event was hosted by Eric and Brandi Yahola. The participants and spectators enjoyed hot dogs and water after the parade. Prizes donated by McGee Dairy Queen and Circle P Construction.
