Porter Reed ~ Negro League Player

Muskogee, Oklahoma was a major stop on the Negro League baseball barnstorming circuit. As a child, Porter Reed saw the Kansas City Monarchs, Chicago American Giants, Memphis Red Sox, and other Negro League teams play in Muskogee during the 1930s. When he became a teenager, Reed played on the local team battling the Negro Leaguers when they came to town. And when the Kansas City Monarchs came to town he would play with the Monarchs and against them.

Dr. Donnie L. Nero Sr. attended the 2023 85th Annual ACE State Meeting “Borrowed Time” Strategically Preparing for Inevitable Disasters, in Oklahoma City, OK as his first state meeting as a board of director. Dr. Nero was appointed as one of five board of directors in January representing District (Area 6) covering the Southeastern counties. In April 1937 Oklahoma passed the Conservation District Act, giving citizens the opportunity to form their own conservation districts and creating the Oklahoma Conservation Commission.

Brian Currin ~ UCA Instructor

Brian Currin, son of Gresha Currin and Brian Currin, is a freshman at the University of Arkansas and is on the cheerleading squad. He recently became an instructor with the UCA staff, referred by the nation’s top programs and hand-selected based on their skill, knowledge, experience, and teaching ability. With more collegiate cheerleaders and current coaches than any other camp company, the UCA Staff are uniquely qualified to help any squad be their very best. Plus, most have attended UCA Camp as cheerleaders themselves! Brian will work throughout the summer traveling the states conducting cheerleading camps.
