Jordan Marie Blades Makes 2022 Metro Lakes All-Conference Team

Jordan, granddaughter of Donnie and Shirley Nero and daughter of Tanya and Marvin Blades and sister of Jada and Makai carries on the tradition of being an athletic in the family. This year, Jordan made the 2022 Metro Lakes All Confernece Basketball Team and her 4x1 track team brough home 3 rd in the State 5A track meet at Ardmore last week. She also qualified in the 4x4, 200 and 100 but did not medal. She says, wait until next year. Jordan is a junior at Glenpool High School.

Clearview’s Great American Cleanup/Trash-Off

The Town of Clearview participated in the Oklahoma Great American Cleanup/Trash-Off on May 17, 2022, campaign to clean up their streets and cemetery. Groups divided cleaned the Main Streets and cleaned the Clearview Cemetery. Those in the cemetery removed old flowers and tree limbs in preparation for Memorial Day. All participants are sixty-plus years old. Those on Main Street removed trash from bar ditches. The town anticipates continuing the project throughout the year. The Great American Cleanup/Trash-Off supplied the vest, trash bags, gloves, and sign. Participants included left to right Earl French, Marilyn Jackson, Ethelene Scott, Patsy French, Alpheus Grundy, Marjorie Plunkett, Helen Bush, Peter Bush, Joyce Barrett, Donnie Nero, and Shirley Nero.

Donnie Nero celebrates Birthday

On May 15 , Donnie Nero celebrated his 73 birthday. He loves to fish but he had not spent time doing that. This year for his birthday, he dusted off his fishing tackle and he and Mr. Grundy went fishing and brought home the catch. Hopefully, will slow down, enjoy his cattle, and do more fishing. In addition to his ranching, Donnie is incredibly involved in the vitality of Clearview with improvement project. He spends many volunteer hours with county and state committees. But he is committed to his ministry of the Church of Christ.

Atwood School Reunion July 2

The Atwood School Reunion will be held Saturday, July 2 , from noon until 6:00 pm in the Lowell Wilkerson Community Building (next to the First Baptist Church) in Atwood. Their potluck dinner has been set for 4:30 pm, followed by a brief business meeting. All former students, teachers and residents are invited. Bring your favorite dish and enjoy the afternoon.
