Stuart Lady Hornets Make Deep Run in the Playoffs

The Stuart Lady Hornets fi nished the 2022 Spring Slowpitch Season as an OSSAA Class 2A State Quarterfi nalist. Coach Chance Chapman’s squad fi nished with an impressive record of 32-12, ending their season in the State Tournament with a loss to Ripley 15-12.

Graham-Dustin Boys golf team members

Graham-Dustin Boys golf team members, who play with the Henryetta Golf Team, wrapped up their team season finishing just one spot out of the top six to qualify for State. However, Graham-Dustin Sophomore Eli Benard, shot his second-best score of the year (85) and qualified as an individual. He will compete in the state competition at the Lakeview Golf Course in Edmond. Congratulations Eli, on a great round in terrible conditions. Graham-Dustin senior Jackson Wallace missed the state tournament by ONE stroke. Trenton Morgan 95, Caveryn Foster 103, and Brady Norman rounded out the scoring. “These young men were a pleasure to be around and showed marked improvement. Today’s Regional weather was brutal and shortened the tournament by 18 holes. They battled all day and just came up short. I am so proud of them” stated Coach Been, Henryetta Golf Coach.

Gerald Dewayne Scroggins

Gerald Dewayne Scroggins passed away peacefully at his home in Morrison, OK on April 11, 2022, at the age of 86. He was born on January 15, 1936, in Holdenville, OK to Fay and Edith (Price) Scroggins. Gerald was born the oldest of three children. He graduated from Holdenville High School in 1954. His first job after high school was with the Seismograph Service Corporation. He married Winnie Easley and they had three sons, Randy, David and Marc.

Porter John Olden was born July 3, 1954 to John H. and Iola Mae Olden in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Porter attended Holdenville Schools and graduated in May of 1972.
